Naju-si Conducts 'Anti-Corruption Integrity Training' for Public Officials

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Han-hyuk Lee] On the 25th, Naju City in Jeollanam-do announced that it conducted an 'Anti-Corruption Integrity Education' aimed at public officials at grade 5 and above in the main conference room of the city hall on the 24th to promote a culture of integrity in the public service.

This education covered the 'Public Officials Conflict of Interest Prevention Act' enacted on May 19, as well as the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, the Code of Conduct for Public Officials, and included training on preventing abuse of power cases and workplace harassment.

The Conflict of Interest Prevention Act focuses on preventing public officials from compromising fair and honest job performance due to their private interests while performing their duties.

Through this education, the city emphasized the ten types of conflict of interest prevention measures, including 'reporting conflict of interest situations' and 'restrictions and prohibitions on acts of concern for unfair or improper conduct,' focusing on the preemptive prevention and management of corrupt acts and post-sanction measures against corruption.

A city official stated, "Senior public officials must take the lead in continuous self-purification efforts to gain citizens' trust and block corruption," and added, "We hope that all departments will do their best in employee education to ensure the early establishment of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act in the public sector."

Meanwhile, the city is promoting various integrity policies under the vision of realizing a transparent Naju through communication and empathy, such as the 'Departmental Policy Discovery and Promotion Report Meeting to Improve Integrity,' 'Integrity Tour Meetings with Participation of All Employees,' and 'Sharing Integrity Empathy Messages with Departments.'
