Andong City resumed the enjoyable library outing and tour program for young children starting in May.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Andong City Library, Central Library, Ungbu Library, and Children's Library in Gyeongbuk have resumed the 'Library Tour Program,' which was suspended for two years due to COVID-19, starting in May.
The tour program introduces various facilities and services available at the library in an easy-to-understand way so that young children can develop interest in the library and have a friendly image of it.
Composed of storytelling, DVD viewing, reading experiences, and tours, this service was participated in by many kindergartens and daycare centers in the area before COVID-19.
Andong City Library has been providing most services normally since the 21st of last month.
Various services for young children are available, such as receiving Bookstart packages, using the children's book corner, reading rooms, feeding the reading fish, and participating in cultural classes.
To participate in the tour program, advance group reservations are required through the website. The Central Library operates on Wednesdays, Ungbu Library on Fridays, and the Children's Library on Tuesdays, so applicants can choose the library and date that suit their visit.
An official from Andong City Library said, "Since the resumption of tour program applications, many kindergartens and daycare centers are still participating," and added, "We hope that children will visit the library frequently beyond the tour program, making the library a friendly and enjoyable outing space for them."
