23,348 New COVID-19 Cases Nationwide by 9 PM... 2,084 Fewer Than Same Time Previous Day

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Junyi] As of 9 PM on the 24th, the number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases reached the 20,000 range.

According to Seoul Metropolitan Government and other local governments, from midnight to 9 PM on the same day, a total of 23,348 people across 17 cities and provinces nationwide were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

This is a decrease of 2,084 cases compared to the same time the previous day (25,432 cases).

The number of confirmed cases at the same time had decreased to the 10,000 range on the 21st and to the 9,000 range on the 22nd, but rebounded to the 20,000 range starting from the 23rd as the weekend effect diminished.

As of 9 PM on this day, new confirmed cases were 9,832 (41.7%) in the Seoul metropolitan area and 13,616 (58.3%) in non-metropolitan areas.
