Changwon City Holds 27th Memorial Ceremony for Sculptor Moon Shin

Creation of Garden and Photo Zone to Celebrate 100th Anniversary of Birth

On the 24th, the 27th memorial ceremony for sculptor Moon Shin was held in Changwon City, Gyeongnam.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Changwon City, Gyeongnam, held the 27th memorial ceremony for sculptor Moon Shin on the 24th.

The memorial ceremony, held at the outdoor exhibition hall pavilion of the Changwon City Masan Moon Shin Art Museum, proceeded in the order of guest introductions, introduction of Moon Shin's biography and achievements, commemorative remarks by Deputy Mayor Jeong Hyeran, flower offering and silent tribute, and a memorial speech by the bereaved family representative.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Moon Shin's birth, the Changwon City Masan Moon Shin Art Museum created 'Moon Shin's Garden' and a 'Photo Zone' at the pavilion of the outdoor exhibition hall and the walking trail within the museum.

Moon Shin's Garden and the Photo Zone are open year-round and are expected to provide rest areas, sights, and entertainment for citizens and visitors to the museum.

Deputy Mayor Jeong Hyeran said, "This year marks the 100th anniversary of Moon Shin's birth, and it is very meaningful to hold the memorial event in a place imbued with the noble passion and artistic spirit of the master."
