[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongho Shin] Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Donghoon Lee) announced on the 24th that it has donated 10 million KRW for medical expenses to the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korea Leukemia Pediatric Cancer Association.
Gwangju Shinsegae continuously supports medical expenses to aid the recovery and development as well as provide financial support for children and adolescents suffering emotional delays due to pediatric cancer treatment.
The donation ceremony was attended by Youngjun Choi, head of the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korea Leukemia Pediatric Cancer Association, Donghoon Lee, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, and others, adding prestige to the event.
The donated funds are allocated to patients requiring emotional and cognitive therapies such as speech, psychological, and art therapy, with priority given to economically vulnerable households such as recipients of government aid and low-income families.
Donghoon Lee, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, said, “I hope that the children bravely fighting their illnesses will recover quickly and return to happy daily lives.”
Branch head Youngjun Choi expressed gratitude, saying, “We are very thankful for the interest shown to children suffering from pediatric cancer every day,” and added, “We will continue to strive so that they can be fully cured, return to school, and live healthy lives.”
Meanwhile, the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korea Leukemia Pediatric Cancer Association is an organization dedicated to the complete recovery of children and adolescents suffering from leukemia, pediatric cancer, and rare incurable diseases. The organization works to provide not only financial support but also socio-cultural assistance so that these children can grow and develop as healthy members of society.
