[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jung-wan] On the 24th, the People Power Party announced that it is considering filing a complaint against a high school teacher who publicly criticized President Yoon Suk-yeol during class with third-year high school students.

At the party's floor meeting that day, Floor Leader Kwon Seong-dong emphasized, "The autonomy of education and political neutrality are stipulated in the Constitution," adding, "Under no circumstances should teachers conduct politically biased lessons."

According to materials submitted by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education to Assemblywoman Jeong Gyeong-hee, the People Power Party's education committee secretary on the 19th, Teacher A from an autonomous private high school located in Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do, used a cartoon depicting President Yoon giving a Nazi-style salute as teaching material during an advanced Korean language class for third-year high school students on the 17th, and continued to criticize the inauguration speech for about three minutes.

Assemblywoman Jeong stated, "Teacher A spread false news from the Democratic Party claiming that President Yoon left work early during North Korea's missile provocations, inciting the students," and added, "He also said that President Yoon quietly left early without even holding a National Security Council (NSC) meeting."

In response, Floor Leader Kwon said, "Before values and life perspectives are established, education should be value-neutral, but conducting biased lessons is unacceptable," and instructed the party's legal support team to "actively consider filing a complaint after verifying whether the teacher violated the Public Official Election Act and whether the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education officials who failed to properly investigate the complaint are guilty of dereliction of duty."
