Suncheon-si Receives Strong Response for Bathing and Beauty Voucher Support for Seniors Aged 80 and Over

Suncheon-si Receives Strong Response for Bathing and Beauty Voucher Support for Seniors Aged 80 and Over

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 24th that starting this year, it will implement the ‘Senior Health Voucher Support Project’ to provide bathing and beauty service fees to seniors aged 80 and over.

The Senior Health Voucher Support Project is a system that supports a comfortable and healthy life for seniors aged 80 and over and revitalizes the local economy by providing support in the form of vouchers.

The voucher support fund is provided twice a year (January and July) at 10,000 KRW per month, totaling 120,000 KRW annually. Once applied, as long as there is no change in eligibility, it is automatically recharged every half-year without the need for reapplication.

Additionally, for applications submitted by December 15, full support for the half-year period including the application month will be provided.

However, residents of elderly residential welfare facilities and elderly medical welfare facilities, as well as those receiving home care benefits under the Long-term Care Insurance Act for the Elderly, are excluded from the support target.

Applications can be made by the senior themselves or their guardian (spouse and direct blood relatives) by visiting the administrative welfare center of their address with identification and other required documents. The voucher can only be used at bathing and beauty service establishments registered as ‘Suncheon City Health Voucher Card affiliated stores.’

A Suncheon City official stated, “Seniors eligible for the first half-year voucher support (born before June 30, 1942) must apply by the end of next month to receive the full support amount for the first half-year. Applications made after July will not receive retroactive support for the first half-year,” and added, “Those who have not yet applied are encouraged to promptly visit their local administrative welfare center for guidance and application.”

Meanwhile, Suncheon City is continuously recruiting affiliated stores that provide bathing and beauty services.

Affiliated store registration approval is conducted by reviewing the relevance to the project purpose, whether the business is located in Suncheon City, and whether a card payment system (terminal) is installed and in use.

For more detailed information regarding voucher applications and affiliated store recruitment, inquiries can be made to the Suncheon City Senior Welfare Division.
