[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Maritime Police announced on the 24th that they will conduct 'Lifeguard Certification Acquisition and Renewal Training' at the National Sports Center swimming pool until the 30th to strengthen lifeguard capabilities before the peak summer season in cooperation with specialized institutions.
This training, organized by the Korea Maritime Rescue Association, is aimed at enhancing the rescue response capabilities of police officers at local police stations and improving their ability to handle emergency situations. A total of 57 Jeju Maritime Police officers will participate in the lifeguard certification acquisition and renewal training.
The training content includes both theory and practice, covering basic swimming and lifeguard techniques, first aid, and equipment-based rescue methods. The new certification course lasts five days, while the renewal training takes eight hours. To ensure professionalism and fairness, the training is conducted under the guidance of expert instructors in cooperation with the Korea Maritime Rescue Association.
A Jeju Maritime Police official stated, “Through this training, we will strengthen our rescue capabilities to protect the lives and property of the public in the event of marine accidents during the summer season and meet the heightened expectations of the public for the maritime police.”
