[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] The Democratic Party of Korea evaluated on the 23rd that it would be difficult to avoid public criticism regarding the resignation of Jeong Ho-young, Minister of Health and Welfare, due to his lack of communication.
On the same day, Ko Yong-jin, spokesperson for the Democratic Party's election committee, said in a verbal statement, "It is a case of too little, too late," and added, "I do not understand why the resignation of candidate Jeong was dragged out until now."
He continued, "The candidate's continued outright denial of his allegations is behavior deserving of public criticism." Candidate Jeong, when announcing his voluntary resignation that day, mentioned, "I have already explained that there were no illegal or morally or ethically improper actions regarding my children’s issues or my own."
Spokesperson Ko said, "The public judgment on candidate Jeong's allegations has already been made," and added, "Since the president's decision was delayed, it will be difficult to avoid public criticism of this uncommunicative appointment."
