US Biden: "Putin Must Pay Long-Term Price for Ukraine Atrocities"

[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] U.S. President Joe Biden stated on the 23rd that it is important to make Russian President Vladimir Putin pay the price for the atrocities in Ukraine.

President Biden said at a press conference held after the U.S.-Japan summit in Tokyo that day, "The United States and its allies are imposing sanctions," and "Russia must pay the price for a long time (for the invasion of Ukraine)."

He continued, "If sanctions are not maintained in various ways, what signal will it send about the cost of China forcibly occupying Taiwan?" thereby making it clear that there will be no easing of sanctions on Russia.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida also commented on the Ukraine situation, stating, "We will not tolerate any attempts to shake the international order by force anywhere."
