[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] On the 23rd, the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation announced that it signed a business agreement with the Korea Software Industry Association at the POSCO Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to promote projects such as the 'Disabled Digital Academy' to nurture digital talents among people with disabilities.
The Disabled Digital Academy is a project that selects people with disabilities who hold an associate degree or higher (including those expected to graduate) and provides educational programs to enhance their digital capabilities. It will be operated for two years starting this year. Selected trainees will receive 24 weeks of online and offline education in subjects such as coding, web development, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data.
The foundation will recruit and select trainees, providing each person with 500,000 KRW per month for training expenses and learning materials, while the Korea Software Industry Association will survey the hiring demand of affiliated information and communication (IT) companies and support the employment of trainees who complete the Digital Academy course.
