Jin Byeong-yeong, Candidate for Hamyang County Governor, Sparks Fiery Campaign Momentum in Hamyang Jang Victory Rally

Over 5,000 Supporters Chant ‘Jin Byeong-yeong’, Will the Independent Coalition and Residents' Power Create a Storm?

Jin Byeong-yeong, Candidate for Hamyang County Governor, Sparks Fiery Campaign Momentum in Hamyang Jang Victory Rally Independent coalition candidates are greeting collectively at the campaign rally in Hamyang.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jin Byeong-yeong, candidate for mayor of Hamyang County, held a "Victory Campaign" for the June 1 nationwide simultaneous local elections at 10 a.m. on the 22nd at the entrance of Jirisan Hamyang Market in Hamyang-eup, Hamyang County, continuing to rally support for the independent coalition and the "Power of the Residents."

At the campaign site at the entrance of Hamyang Market, where the five-day market was held that day, about 5,000 supporters and residents gathered. Along with candidate Jin Byeong-yeong, candidates for provincial councilor Seo Man-hoon, and county councilors Lee Dong-jin, Lim Chae-sook, Park Man-ho, and Kang Chan-hee attended, strengthening their determination to win and demonstrating the power of the independent coalition.

During the campaign, candidate Jin sharply criticized candidate Seo Chun-soo's pledges, such as achieving a population of 50,000, which he deemed unlikely to be realized, saying, "How can someone who broke the single-term promise made to the residents four years ago properly fulfill such pledges?"

Jin also pointed out, "When I served as the 10th provincial councilor, I worked tirelessly for three years to attract the Hamyang Student Library. In 2019, 12 billion KRW was allocated to the Hamyang Office of Education, with 6 billion KRW each from the national government and the provincial education office budgets. However, I understand that Mayor Seo did not give a definite response regarding Hamyang County's matching investment of 3 billion KRW, so the funds were returned."

He raised his voice, saying, "Over the past four years, the mayor has been extremely indifferent to the education of Hamyang's future generation, the children, and barely attended even the Education Administration Council meetings. Parents know very well whether someone who makes smart future education a campaign pledge is qualified to be mayor."

He then promised, "I will definitely reinitiate the student library project so that children in our area can receive the same educational services as those in urban areas and do my best to improve the educational environment for our local children."

In addition, he appealed for support, saying, "I will put more effort into senior citizens' jobs and welfare, and resolve the odor problems from the Hamyang-eup sewage treatment plant and livestock farms in the Geomyeon area to create a pleasant and livable residential environment."

Before Jin Byeong-yeong's campaign, former director of Hamyang Agricultural Technology Center Ha Jong-hee and Hoseo University professor Jeong Cheol-sang held support rallies, drawing applause from voters.
