[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] E-Land announced on the 23rd that it will pre-open the 330㎡ White Cube exhibition hall on the first floor of the 'E-Land Heyri Gallery,' which opens next month, and present the first exhibition, the 'Jihee Solo Exhibition.'

The E-Land Gallery is the largest standalone building in Heyri Art Village. In addition to the art exhibition complex, three studios totaling 3,000㎡ are separately operated as film shooting locations. The second exhibition hall, located on the basement first floor with an area of 990㎡, will open in mid-next month.

For 18 years, E-Land has supported emerging artists and provided scholarships to the top five art universities in China. The number of beneficiaries has reached about 3,000, and the gallery plans to showcase about 500 carefully selected works by these artists.

Domestically, E-Land has held an annual contest for young artists under 40 since 2009. Selected artists receive creative support funds and hold exhibitions to showcase their creative works. So far, 12 rounds have been selected, with a total of 95 artists receiving support funds and exhibition opportunities. The first exhibition at the gallery features 'Jihee,' an artist from the 10th round of the E-Land Cultural Foundation contest, presenting pop art works in sculptural language. To target the domestic art market, which has grown to a scale of 10 trillion won, E-Land plans to introduce various contents, including online galleries, by the end of the year, in addition to offline galleries.

An E-Land official said, "The opening of this gallery is significant in discovering works by young artists with excellent artistic worlds and increasing their contact points with the public," adding, "We will spare no support so that talented young artists can fully demonstrate their abilities and grow into wonderful artists leading the domestic and international art scenes."
