KOTRA Partners with Regional Hub Universities to Support 'Overseas Employment Opportunities'


[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] KOTRA announced on the 23rd that it will hold a regional base university 'Overseas Employment Briefing Session' and 'Overseas Employment Officer Workshop' jointly with the Ministry of Employment and Labor to nurture local talent into global talent.


KOTRA is promoting briefing sessions at regional base universities to support the growth of local talent into global talent in line with the improvement of overseas employment conditions. Twenty overseas employment officers from KOTRA trade offices in countries with high interest in overseas employment such as the United States, Japan, Singapore, and Australia will participate as speakers.


The briefing sessions will be held over two days on the 25th and 26th at nine regional base universities in eight regions including Gwangju, Busan, Daegu-Gyeongbuk, Daejeon-Chungnam, Chungbuk, and Gangwon (▲Chosun University ▲Dong-Eui University ▲Yeungnam University ▲Chungnam National University ▲Chungbuk National University ▲Catholic Kwandong University ▲Jeonbuk National University ▲Incheon National University ▲Daejin University). At these sessions, vivid on-site information such as ▲employment trends after the endemic transition ▲successful employment cases ▲visa information will be provided to local talent.


On the 24th, the 'Overseas Employment Officer Workshop,' attended by overseas trade office officers for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, will also be held. In this workshop, ways to discover recruitment demands tailored to each country's characteristics and provide quality jobs to local talent will be discussed.


Yoo Jung-yeol, President of KOTRA, stated, "The doors to overseas employment, which were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, are opening again," and added, "We will further expand cooperation with regional base universities to support the nurturing of global talent in local areas."
