Beach Resorts Also Returning to Normal! ... Busan City Doing Its Best to Prepare for Safe Tourism! Busan City Hall.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] On the 20th, Busan City held the ‘2022 Beach Operation Report Meeting’ with district and county offices and related organizations to inspect safety and operational matters in preparation for the opening of beaches.

Since social distancing was lifted on April 18, Busan City expects a surge in beach visitors this year as daily life returns to normal. Accordingly, the city focused on safety management inspections at each beach during the operation report meeting.

They also checked operational matters related to transportation, public safety, facility improvements and maintenance such as restrooms and shower rooms, as well as convenience facilities including accommodations, food services, parasols, and tubes.

In addition to safety inspections, the city plans to operate various programs to transform the beaches into themed beaches that utilize Busan’s unique beach characteristics and surrounding tourist resources.

The programs to be operated include ▲Marine Healing Program ▲Haeundae Beach Radio ▲Gwangalli Pengsu Zone ▲Gwangalli M Drone Light Show, featuring leisure, healing, and experiential activities.

The beach openings will begin with Haeundae and Songjeong Beaches, which will open first on July 2 with a safe opening, followed by Songdo, Gwangalli, Dadaepo, Ilgwang, and Imrang, totaling seven locations, officially opening on July 1.

Jo Yoo-jang, Director of the Tourism MICE Industry Bureau, said, “We will strive to restore the vibrant image of Busan as a tourist city with various attractions and entertainment,” adding, “We will carefully prepare in areas such as safety, transportation, and public security so that tourists visiting Busan do not feel inconvenienced and will want to visit Busan again.”
