Qualcomm Unveils Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 "10% Faster Speed, 30% Power Reduction"

Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Also Unveiled

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Qualcomm Technologies announced on the 22nd the launch of its latest mobile platform product lines, the 'Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1' and 'Snapdragon 7 Gen 1,' which will be equipped in next-generation premium and high-performance Android smartphones.

Qualcomm's latest flagship platform, the Snapdragon 8+, is a premium-grade platform that delivers enhanced power and performance across all on-device experiences. It improves gaming experiences with up to 10% faster speeds and up to 30% power reduction. The enhanced power efficiency can extend users' gameplay time by up to 60 minutes. It also features the latest Snapdragon Sight technology, including 8K HDR video recording, enhancing smartphone video shooting capabilities.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is expected to be equipped in commercial devices from global manufacturers and brands such as ASUS ROG, Black Shark, Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, Oppo, Osom, Realme, Red Magic, Redmi, Vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE, scheduled for release in the third quarter of this year.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 offers mobile gaming, fast connectivity, intelligent entertainment, and high capture performance and features. It has been adopted by major global OEMs and brands including Honor, Oppo, and Xiaomi, with commercial devices expected to launch in the second quarter.

The Snapdragon 7 includes Snapdragon Elite Gaming features such as the Adreno Frame Motion Engine, which doubles frame rates while maintaining the same power consumption to upgrade content. The Adreno GPU provides 20% improved graphics rendering speed. It also supports immersive Quad HD+ displays and amplified audio features with howling prevention for multiplayer gaming.
