"Yoon Administration, Amateur Government in Economy and Diplomacy... Apologizing to the People for Passing on the Regime"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Yoon Ho-jung, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, commented on the South Korea-U.S. summit between President Yoon Seok-yeol and U.S. President Joe Biden, stating, "There was talk about the Korea-U.S. alliance collapsing and being rebuilt, but looking at the results announced yesterday, there is not a single difference from the joint statement issued when former President Moon Jae-in visited the U.S. a year ago and held a summit with President Biden."
Chairman Yoon made these remarks during a support rally held on the 22nd at Bucheon Central Park, saying, "The Korea-U.S. summit is ongoing, so I was going to refrain from commenting until today, but I feel I must say something."
Regarding the policies of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, Chairman Yoon also stated, "The government of the Republic of Korea is an amateur in the economy, an amateur in security, an amateur in diplomacy, and it is obvious that it is also an amateur in public welfare."
He added, "I sincerely apologize to our supporters and the people for handing over power to such an amateur president," and continued, "We have made many mistakes, but the people made an amateur the president to correct those mistakes."
Furthermore, about the first phase of the new town policy under the Yoon administration, he said, "Since the transition committee period, it was postponed as a mid- to long-term task, and although the residents rose up, they will probably proceed earlier, claiming they will establish a master plan," emphasizing, "Mid- to long-term plans or master plans are essentially the same thing, so we must not be fooled by such tricks."
