It will contribute to growth as an advanced city attracting young people and a healthy city suitable for old age.”
The debate was composed of two parts: Part 1, “Designing the Present and Future of Yangsan,” and Part 2, “Designing Smart City Yangsan in the Era of Digital Hegemony,” with participation from various experts spanning industry and academia.
Professor Na Geon of Hongik University, who oversaw the debate, said, “It was a meaningful occasion where experts from diverse fields shared knowledge for the development of Yangsan,” and forecasted, “If the ideas lead to creative outcomes, significant changes are expected in Yangsan’s future.”
Assemblyman Yoon stated, “To become a successful smart city, it is necessary to use IT and biotechnology (BT) to make urban life convenient and integrate spatial design to solve urban problems.”
He continued, “For Yangsan to advance as an advanced future city and smart city, it is essential to actively utilize the Busan National University site to attract cutting-edge companies and related industries in IoT, AI, medical and life sciences, and bio sectors.”
He also emphasized, “We must approach this in a lifestyle-oriented manner that is close to citizens’ lives through the KTX stop at Mulgeum Station and the Southeast region circular metropolitan railway connecting Busan-Gyeongnam-Yangsan-Ulsan-Busan.”
