They added, "Candidate Lee said, 'I feel saddened by the news of the arrest warrant application,'" and explained, "'Acts of violence and election interference are crimes that threaten democracy, and I hope that this incident will serve as a turning point so that such events never happen to anyone again.'" They also added, "'This time, I ask for leniency.'"


The perpetrator, A, was investigated for throwing a stainless steel bowl used for chicken bones at Candidate Lee, who was passing in front of a restaurant in Gyesan-dong, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, while campaigning around 9:30 p.m. on the 20th, after drinking with an acquaintance at the restaurant.


He reportedly stated during the police investigation, "I threw it because I was drinking and got upset due to the noise."
