Recruiting 225 People for 65 Projects from May 23 to 31... Public Service Support and Environmental Maintenance Work Participation from July 1 to December 20
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Geumcheon-gu will recruit a total of 225 participants for the second half of 2022 Seoul Citizen Safe Job Project from May 23 to 31.
This project is promoted to provide direct jobs to the unemployed and vulnerable employment groups to support their livelihood and help them become self-reliant.
The final selected participants will take part in 65 projects including Clean Happy Call, park maintenance, and Anyangcheon riverside maintenance projects.
Eligibility requirements are Geumcheon-gu residents aged 18 or older as of the project start date (July 1, 2022), who are unemployed or daily workers without regular income, and whose combined assets of the applicant, spouse, and family do not exceed 400 million KRW.

Residents wishing to participate should visit their local community service center with identification, application form, and consent form for personal information collection and use to apply. However, recipients of unemployment benefits and households with income exceeding 70% of the median income are not eligible to participate.
Geumcheon-gu will review applicants’ asset status, number of dependents, number of times participated in public jobs, and exclusion criteria, and announce the results on June 28, 2022, in the ‘Geumcheon News’ section of the Geumcheon-gu Office website. Final successful candidates will be individually notified by the project department.
The final selected participants will work at various locations such as Geumcheon-gu Office, welfare centers, and libraries from July 1 to December 20, 2022. They will work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, earning 51,000 KRW per day including snack allowance. Participants aged 65 or older will work 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, earning 33,000 KRW per day including snack allowance.
Additionally, participants will be mandatorily enrolled in the four major social insurances and will receive safety and labor education, sexual harassment prevention education, workplace bullying prevention education, and health checkups for safety and health management.
Park O-im, Director of Job Creation Division, said, “We plan to strengthen the employment capabilities of vulnerable groups by providing quality jobs to residents along with employment counseling and vocational training,” adding, “We will continue to expand various jobs to contribute to revitalizing the local economy.”
