Hankook Tire Participates in International Tire Exhibition 'The Tire Cologne 2022'

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Hankook Tire & Technology announced on the 22nd that it will participate in the international tire exhibition "The Tire Cologne 2022," held in Cologne, Germany from the 24th to the 26th, and will showcase its electric vehicle-exclusive tire brand "ION" for the first time.

Held for the first time in four years since 2018, "The Tire Cologne" is the world's largest tire exhibition with the participation of major global tire companies such as Hankook Tire, Michelin, Continental, and Pirelli. Hankook Tire will set up a dedicated booth at the exhibition and unveil "ION" for the first time.

"ION" is a product researched and developed from the design stage targeting high-performance premium electric vehicles, perfectly realizing the performance of high-output electric vehicles such as pure electric sports cars. In particular, it features "Hankook Evolution Technology," which overcomes the "trade-off" performance where improving one specific performance causes others to decline.

With "EV Contour Technology," it enhances sidewall rigidity to withstand the heavy load of electric vehicles and delivers excellent handling performance. Additionally, by applying "Hankook Sound Absorber" technology, it provides an optimal low-noise environment, demonstrating performance optimized for EV characteristics.

Through "ION," Hankook Tire has completed the industry's first full lineup of electric vehicle-exclusive tires, including summer, winter, and all-season tires. Starting with this exhibition, "ION" will be launched first in the European market, and from August, products will be sequentially unveiled in domestic and global markets.

Along with this, visitors can also see the winter tire "Winter i*cept RS3" and the airless tire "i-Flex."

"Winter i*cept RS3" offers stable handling on snowy, wet, and dry roads with improved mileage and applies various drainage technologies to ensure safe driving on winter rainy roads.

First introduced at "CES 2022," "i-Flex" is a futuristic concept airless tire that ensures safety from accidents caused by punctures and requires no maintenance for proper air pressure, making it optimized for autonomous mobility. Notably, the latest design of "i-Flex" will be unveiled for the first time at this exhibition.

In addition, the ultra-high-performance sports tire "Ventus S1 evo" and medium-to-large cargo truck tires "SmartFlex AH51" and "SmartFlex DH51" will also be exhibited.

Meanwhile, Hankook Tire continues to participate in major global exhibitions such as the North American Commercial Vehicle Show, the UK Birmingham International Commercial Vehicle Show, the IAA Commercial Vehicles Exhibition, and The Tire Cologne Exhibition, strengthening premium brand communication to lead the global tire market.
