The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced on the 20th that they have arrested and are investigating a U.S. citizen, Mr. A, on charges of injury and obstruction of official duties. Mr. A is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, Ms. B, in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, at around 4:10 a.m. that day. He is also charged with punching two police officers and three paramedics who arrived at the scene and damaging the ambulance window.
During the incident, one police officer suffered a mild concussion, and one paramedic was confirmed to have a broken tooth. Another police officer and two paramedics sustained abrasions. Although Mr. A was arrested at the scene, the police were unable to conduct a suspect interrogation due to his intoxicated state. The police plan to request an arrest warrant for Mr. A.
