Jungjingong Donates PCs Assembled with Social Enterprises to Youth

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Seoul Regional Headquarters of the Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) announced on the 20th that it held a PC donation event for mutual cooperation in the afternoon at Geumcheon-gu Office in Seoul, jointly with the social enterprise Comtree and the Seoul Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises Convergence Association.

SBC and the Seoul Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises Convergence Association jointly purchased 10 newly assembled PCs worth about 10 million KRW and donated them to adolescents from single-parent and grandparent-headed families in Geumcheon-gu. The PC manufacturer Comtree also participated in the donation. The donated PCs will be delivered to vulnerable adolescents through Geumcheon-gu Office.

Before the donation, 36 employees of SBC Seoul Headquarters visited Comtree’s production site to help with the labor shortage. The employees assembled PCs together with workers with disabilities. Comtree is a social enterprise that creates jobs by employing more than half of its workers as people with disabilities and elderly workers.

Woo Young-hwan, Head of the Corporate Support Division at SBC, said, "SBC is an institution that closely supports small and medium ventures nationwide through its field organizations, and will continue to actively promote activities that coexist with local communities to practice exemplary ESG management as a public institution."
