[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Myunghwan] BlissPack announced on the 20th that it will begin mass production of blister packaging for diagnostic reagents from a global pharmaceutical company, which will be supplied worldwide starting in the second half of this year.
BlissPack stated that the blister packaging test for diagnostic reagent buffer solutions, conducted with the global pharmaceutical company since last year, is nearing completion, making full-scale product mass production visible.
The pharmaceutical company A, for which BlissPack will supply diagnostic reagent blister packaging, is a US-based global company with 130 years of experience in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors. In addition to COVID-19 diagnostic kits, it supplies pregnancy test kits, urine test kits, and malaria diagnostic kits worldwide.
Blister packaging is a method where contents are filled into molded plastic sheets and sealed with a film cover. Since the contents or products are packaged in a strong molded packaging section, it offers excellent product protection and prevention of deterioration, and according to BlissPack, it also has price competitiveness compared to conventional plastic packaging.
A BlissPack representative said, "With the supply of blister packaging for diagnostic reagents starting in the second half of this year, BlissPack's sales are expected to grow threefold compared to last year, reaching 40 billion KRW."
Meanwhile, since early this year, BlissPack has been responsible for packaging finished COVID-19 diagnostic kits produced by the world's second-largest global diagnostic reagent company.
