Support for Temporary Housing Blind Installation Costs Using Foundation's 6th Anniversary Souvenir Funds
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul 50 Plus Foundation announced on the 20th that labor and management joined forces to donate necessary supplies to support disaster victims in Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, who are suffering from the largest wildfire damage in history.
This donation was a joint decision by labor and management to fulfill social responsibility on the foundation's 6th anniversary, agreeing to use the entire budget for purchasing anniversary gifts to buy necessary supplies for wildfire victims.
The donated supplies were delivered to the disaster victims through the Uljin County Office to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and local businesses in the area were selected for purchase and installation to help revitalize the depressed local economy.
Ku Jong-won, Acting CEO of the Seoul 50 Plus Foundation, said, “Labor and management of the foundation united to provide even a small help to neighbors suffering from sudden wildfire damage,” adding, “The foundation will continue to strive to fulfill its social responsibility as a public institution by sharing the difficulties of the local community.”
Kim Nan-il, Labor Union Chairman of the Seoul 50 Plus Foundation, said, “We hope this donation will help disaster victims who lost their homes due to the wildfire to recover their daily lives,” and added, “Foundation employees will continue various social contribution activities to help the local community together.”
