Gochang-gun Installs 18 Women’s Safety Smart Streetlights

Until last year, the county had installed smart streetlights in 95 vulnerable safety areas, spending over 130 million won.

This year, in cooperation with the Gochang Police Station, the county is selecting 18 locations with low foot traffic and a need for crime prevention to carry out the project.

The smart streetlights combined with black boxes can utilize recorded video footage, which is highly effective in preventing nighttime crimes and resolving incidents and accidents.

A county official said, “We will continue to promote the installation of Women’s Safety Smart Streetlights so that socially vulnerable groups such as women and the elderly can move safely at night.”
