A 70-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies Crossing Crosswalk Hit by Drunk 20s Driver in Mercedes-Benz On the 19th, a driver in his 20s driving a Mercedes-Benz in Incheon caused a drunk driving accident, resulting in the death of a man in his 70s.


[Asia Economy Reporter Intern Lee Gyehwa] A man in his 70s who was crossing a crosswalk early in the morning was hit and killed by a Mercedes-Benz vehicle driven by a intoxicated man in his 20s.


The Incheon Western Police Station announced on the 19th that they have arrested and are investigating a man in his 20s, Mr. A, on charges of causing death by dangerous driving under the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.


Mr. A is accused of driving under the influence around 4:06 a.m. on a road in Yeonhui-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, and hitting Mr. B (73), who was crossing the crosswalk, resulting in his death.


Mr. B suffered severe head injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by the 119 emergency medical team but died. It was confirmed that Mr. B was crossing the crosswalk with the pedestrian signal (green) at the time.


The police confirmed that Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was above the license cancellation level (0.08%) and arrested him on the spot. The police are investigating the specific circumstances of the accident.
