[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Pulmuone affiliate Olgaholfood announced on the 18th that it will newly launch the 'Animal Welfare No. 1 Certified Free-Range Fertile Eggs' and 'Animal Welfare Pork Refrigerated Packaged Meat 5 Types.'
The Animal Welfare No. 1 Certified Free-Range Fertile Eggs were produced at a farm that received the first animal welfare certification in Korea in 2012. The product is carefully selected eggs from chickens freely raised instead of being densely farmed by Meister Jeong Jin-hoo in Hadong, Gyeongnam.
The animal welfare pork refrigerated packaged meat is introduced in a total of five types: pork belly, neck meat, and front leg meat for bulgogi, stew, and boiled pork. Made from pork certified for animal welfare, it considers both the environment and health by reducing animal stress through ethical breeding in spacious areas instead of factory farming.
Both products have completed 'antibiotic-free certification,' indicating no antibiotics or hormones were administered, and 'HACCP certification,' ensuring thorough hygienic management throughout the production process and distribution stages, according to Olga's food safety management standards.
An Olgaholfood official said, "As social interest in sustainable environments grows recently, customers who consider ethical aspects such as breeding environments beyond organic products are increasing," adding, "We will continue to diversify animal welfare products and expand the market, solidifying our position as a leading eco-friendly distribution company."
