Showers in Various Parts of Central Region Due to Atmospheric Instability

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On the morning commute of Wednesday the 18th, there will be showers accompanied by thunder and lightning in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Incheon and Seoul.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, rain will begin between 7 and 8 a.m. along the Incheon and northern Gyeonggi West Coast, and rain will fall in the northern inland areas of Gyeonggi between 8 and 9 a.m. In Seoul and southern Gyeonggi, raindrops or measurable precipitation are expected around 8 a.m.
Cold air is positioned in the upper atmosphere on this day, and as warm southwesterly winds flow in, the atmosphere becomes unstable. Showers will fall from morning to afternoon in northeastern Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, northern Chungbuk, eastern Jeonbuk, and inland Gyeongbuk.
Expected precipitation amounts are ▲5-20mm in northeastern Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous Gangwon, and northern Chungbuk ▲around 5mm in eastern Jeonbuk and inland Gyeongbuk. In the Seoul metropolitan area, northern inland Chungnam, and western Chungnam coast, raindrops less than 0.1mm are expected.
The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "In areas where showers occur, there may be gusts accompanied by thunder and lightning, and in some parts of northeastern Gyeonggi, western Gangwon, northeastern Chungbuk, and inland Gyeongbuk, hail may fall. Therefore, caution is needed for facility management, safety accidents, and crop management."
As of 7 a.m., temperatures in major areas are Seoul 17°C, Incheon 17.6°C, Suwon 17.3°C, Chuncheon 13.2°C, Gangneung 21.3°C, Cheongju 17.8°C, Daejeon 18.3°C, Jeonju 17.9°C, Gwangju 15.7°C, Daegu 15.3°C, Busan 18.2°C, Ulsan 17.3°C, Changwon 15.4°C, and Jeju 18.9°C.
The forecasted daytime high temperatures are Seoul and Suwon 26°C, Incheon 22°C, Daejeon, Cheongju, Andong, Gwangju, Jeonju 29°C, Daegu and Pohang 31°C, Gangneung 30°C, Ulsan 28°C, Busan and Yeosu 25°C, and Jeju 26°C.
For the time being, morning temperatures will be similar to or slightly higher than average, and daytime temperatures will be higher than the average (21~26°C). Inland areas will experience a very large temperature difference between day and night of 15~20°C. The highest daytime temperatures are expected to range from 22 to 31°C.
With dry weather warnings in effect mainly for eastern Gangwon, inland Chungcheong, Jeolla, and Gyeongsang regions, the atmosphere is very dry and winds are strong, so special caution is required to prevent fires.
In eastern Gangwon, northeastern mountainous Gyeongbuk, and northern western Chungnam coast, winds will blow strongly at 10~16 m/s, with gusts exceeding 20 m/s, and mountainous areas experiencing gusts over 25 m/s.
Strong winds will blow over the central western sea and northern southern western sea, with waves rising to 1~2.5 meters.
