Policies Needed for Single-Person Households, Discovered and Reviewed Directly by Single-Person Households
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 18th that it will launch the policy monitoring group ‘Singgeulbungeul Seoul Supporters,’ in which single-person households directly participate in business inspections and the discovery of new projects, to enhance the effectiveness of policies.
To respond quickly to the policy demands of single-person households, applications for the ‘Singgeulbungeul Seoul Supporters’ will be accepted until the 31st, and 50 members will be selected in June. Eligibility is open to any Seoul citizen (registered resident) living in a single-person household. Selected candidates will be chosen through document screening and interviews and will be active for about six months until November.
The supporters will experience various single-person household projects promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government directly or indirectly, submit activity reports on issues and improvement plans they perceive, and propose policies necessary for single-person household life. Outstanding monitoring reports by supporters will also be posted and shared on the ‘Seoul Single-Person Household Portal’ and other platforms.
The Singgeulbungeul Seoul Supporters will begin full-scale activities starting with the launch ceremony in June, followed by various activities such as policy monitoring and idea proposals for single-person household projects. At the final evaluation presentation, outstanding performers will be awarded and receive certificates of completion.
Citizens wishing to apply for the Singgeulbungeul Seoul Supporters can fill out and submit the application form via Google Forms on the Seoul Single-Person Household Portal or submit it by email. More detailed information can be found in the ‘Notices and Announcements’ section on the Seoul Metropolitan Government website or on the Seoul Single-Person Household Portal.
Lee Hae-seon, Head of the Special Task Force for Single-Person Household Measures, said, “The Seoul Metropolitan Government aims to discover and implement customized policies necessary for single-person household life. Through the Singgeulbungeul Seoul Supporters, we will reflect the demands and perspectives of single-person households and develop and improve policies that can be truly felt.”
