Candidate Yoon Byung-tae Holds Meeting with Local Children's Center Workers
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Yoon Byung-tae, the Democratic Party candidate running for mayor of Naju in the June 1 local elections, promised to actively work on improving the treatment of child welfare teachers and other workers at local children's centers and securing support budgets.
On the 17th, Yoon Byung-tae, the Democratic Party candidate, held a policy meeting with child welfare teachers at his campaign office and said, "For children to receive better care, teachers must be guaranteed sufficient working conditions and environment." He added, "Although we boast of the era of a 10 trillion won budget for Naju, the reality is that we are not properly providing living wages for child welfare teachers. As a budget expert, I will actively secure budgets after taking office and strive to provide sufficient support where needed."
He continued, "Not only at the local government level but also at the central government level, a national responsibility system for childcare should be introduced promptly to unify the scattered childcare policies and budgets, enabling more effective support at the local level." He emphasized, "Expanding child welfare, including the national responsibility system for childcare, is a presidential pledge of candidate Lee Jae-myung and the party's official stance. Therefore, after the local elections, frontline local governments and the central party will closely cooperate to improve the quality of life for childcare workers and children."
On this day, candidate Yoon received a policy proposal from child welfare teachers that included "guaranteed living wages," "payment of 100,000 won for transportation expenses," "holiday bonuses," and "treatment improvement fees and annual leave compensation." He stated that these proposals will be actively considered in detail during the 8th local government administration to establish relevant policies.
