The Touch of the Blue Stranger Painted in the Poetry Gallery 'Eunhasu'
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Suncheon Cultural Foundation announced on the 17th that it will hold an exhibition titled "Sketches and Poetry of a Stranger," where visitors can glimpse the sensibility contained in the paintings of artist Han Hee-won, at the 'Eunhasu Gallery' located on the first floor of Gwak Jae-gu Creative House Jeongwa (靜窩) from the 26th of this month to the 29th of next month.
This exhibition will showcase his works created during his stay of over a year in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, including poems and drawings made like a diary.
Artist Han Hee-won said, "If you open the poet's heart, there would probably be nothing left but black ashes from burning. When people grasp a handful of those black ashes and hold them in their hearts, they bloom into stars and flowers carried by the wind." He plans to convey this story to the public through his writings and paintings.
Additionally, a "Meeting with Artist Han Hee-won" is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, the 8th of next month, from around 2 PM to 4 PM.
Poet Gwak Jae-gu, who planned this exhibition, stated, "The lonely souls of the world with clear and poor spirits will receive warm comfort of life through his poetry and paintings."
Meanwhile, artist Han Hee-won began his first solo exhibition in 1993 and has continued active work to this day, including an invitational exhibition at the Duruduru Gallery in Munich, Germany last year. He has received numerous awards such as the Daedong Art Award, Wonjin Art Award, Jeonnam Theater Festival Stage Art Award, and the 2021 Gwangju Citizen Award (Culture and Arts category).
