The ‘Commerce and Industry Day Ceremony’ is an annual event held by the Ministry of Industry and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry to commend the efforts of businesspeople who contributed to national economic development and local communities and to pledge the development of domestic commerce and industry. Ostem Implant was recognized for the achievements of its Guangdong branch in China this year in the ‘Overseas and Korean Businesspeople’ category.

The Ministry of Industry stated, “We highly evaluated Ostem Implant not only for its contribution to South Korea’s economic development, diversification of export regions, and national prestige but also for the local branch’s efforts to promote the development and welfare of the Chinese-Korean community.”

Consul General Han Jaehyuk in Guangzhou personally visited the headquarters of Ostem Implant’s Guangdong branch on the 12th and presented the Minister’s Commendation to Executive Director Kim Heesoo, the head of the Guangdong branch. The Guangdong branch held a meeting with Consul General Han Jaehyuk, guiding him through major facilities and explaining the branch’s operational status and difficulties.

A representative of the Guangdong branch said, “Despite the difficulties in local sales activities due to the recent spread of Omicron, our achievements so far have been recognized by the government,” and added, “Taking this award as an opportunity, all employees of the Guangdong branch will work harder to carry out aggressive sales activities.”

Meanwhile, last year, about 31% of Ostem Implant’s overseas sales came from China. Ostem Implant operates three sales branches and one production branch in China. The sales of Ostem Implant’s Chinese sales branches increased by 55% in 2021 compared to the previous year, and steady growth continues this year. Ostem Implant plans to operate 117 branches throughout China and aims to increase the number of sales branches to 243 and sales personnel to 1,107 by 2026, leading the ‘solidification of the No. 1 position in China’ through customer-focused sales.
