Government Announces 'Republic of Korea Public Design Awards' Contest

Public Design Projects and Research Conducted Over the Past Three Years

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Craft & Design Foundation will hold the "Korea Public Design Awards" from the 23rd to July 1st. Outstanding cases that have improved the quality of life will be selected and awarded the Prime Minister's Award, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award, the Foundation President's Award, and prize money. The grand prize is for public design projects and research conducted in the last three years. The former is categorized into ▲public design enhancing life safety ▲public design for all ▲public design improving convenience ▲public design elevating life quality ▲campaigns ▲public design administration. The latter must be an inquiry based on expertise that suggests innovative development potential. If it also proposes a future-oriented direction and role, it can receive a special award sponsored by the late Victor Margolin. Margolin was a world-renowned design scholar who passed away in 2019.
