[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) is embarking on spreading a family-friendly organizational culture, starting with the declaration of the Top 10 Work Innovation Proposals embodying the commitment to improve work-life balance (Work and Life Balance).
GH recently held a declaration ceremony at its headquarters in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon, and on the 17th announced its pledge to enhance employees' work-life balance and innovate work methods.
Prior to the declaration ceremony, GH's top executives signed a pledge containing 10 work innovation commitments.
The 10 work innovation commitments include ▲leaving work on time ▲refraining from work-related contact after hours ▲improving work concentration ▲smart meetings ▲clear work instructions ▲flexible working ▲smart reporting ▲healthy company dinner culture ▲encouraging use of annual leave ▲and leading by example from managers.
The pledge signing will be sequentially carried out by managers at the department head level and above.
GH is currently actively operating various systems and programs to spread a work-life balance organizational culture.
In 2012, GH proactively introduced a 'flexible working hours system' allowing employees to freely choose their commuting times while maintaining an 8-hour workday. Since the spread of COVID-19 in 2020, it has expanded this system by offering commuting times in 30-minute increments.
Additionally, GH has established a work-family compatible work environment by designating 'Home Run Day' for leaving work on time, encouraging the use of leave on sandwich days, broadcasting a leaving work song, operating a "I'll leave first" on-time departure notification system, and implementing telecommuting.
