Geumcheon-gu Installs Emergency Bell LED Signage for Easy Nighttime Identification Appearance After Installing CCTV Emergency Bell LED Signboard

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Geumcheon-gu announced that it has installed LED guide panels on CCTV emergency bells to make them easily recognizable to residents even at night for their safety.

Geumcheon-gu operates a total of 2,572 CCTVs at 773 locations, with emergency bells installed at 697 of these sites. Following the installation of LED guide panels on emergency bells at 534 locations last year, an additional 79 locations were equipped this year.

Furthermore, all newly installed CCTVs will also be equipped with emergency bell LED guide panels going forward.

The CCTV emergency bell system is connected to the Geumcheon-gu Office U-Integrated Operation Center. In case of an emergency, pressing the emergency bell button alerts the on-duty police officer and control staff, who then report to 112, enabling police officers to promptly respond to the scene and effectively handle crimes.

Geumcheon-gu determined that emergency bell buttons are difficult to identify at night, reducing their crime prevention effectiveness, and thus installed LED guide panels indicating the location of the emergency bells.

Geumcheon-gu operates the U-Integrated Operation Center in close cooperation with the Geumcheon Police Station to swiftly respond not only to the five major violent crimes but also to various incidents such as fires and traffic safety accidents.

Geumcheon-gu stated, “Operating the emergency bell LED guide panels will help create a safer urban environment free from crime,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen the safety network to build a safer city.”

Yongsan-gu (Mayor Seong Jang-hyun) has been selected for the ‘2022 Public Data Enterprise Matching Support Project’ organized by the National Information Society Agency (NIA) under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing 700 million KRW in national funding.

The Public Data Enterprise Matching Support Project matches public institutions that need data construction and processing with data companies possessing relevant technologies to promote the opening of public data.

This year, Yongsan-gu will implement two fully nationally funded projects under the public data enterprise matching program: ▲ Building a database of growth information for street trees and park trees to revitalize healing forests in the city ▲ Opening tourism and historical-cultural data of Yongsan-gu and establishing public services.

The project budget for building the growth information database for street trees and park trees to revitalize healing forests in the city is 381 million KRW. By the end of the year, basic information such as location and species, growth information, and condition information of street and park trees will be collected. Based on the collected tree data, the district expects to promote systematic green policies such as managing street trees to secure visibility of signboards and planting excellent species that reduce fine dust.

The project for opening Yongsan-gu tourism and historical-cultural data and establishing public services will require 337 million KRW. The project includes collecting and opening data on regionally specialized streets and tourist sites, as well as producing VR content. Through this, the district plans to expand the currently serviced local attraction VR content and revitalize the local commercial district.

The district will utilize a total of 38 youth interns for the public data enterprise matching project, and the collected data will be disclosed to the private sector through the Yongsan-gu big data integrated platform and the Public Data Portal.

Mayor Seong Jang-hyun of Yongsan-gu said, “We will continuously secure various public data that help residents’ lives,” and added, “I believe that the open public data will help solve social problems or create new value.”

Last year, the district secured 200 million KRW in national funding by being selected for the public data enterprise matching support project and collected foreign resident living information data. Based on this, it has been operating a foreign resident living information map site since February this year.

The ‘2022 Metal Industry Expo’ is an international industrial exhibition where trends and developments related to the metal industry can be viewed at a glance. It mainly introduces new materials, parts, finished products, and metal processing technologies, and invites experts from each field to hold seminars.

Last year, the district also set up a booth at the Metal Industry Expo to showcase the machinery and metal products and technological capabilities of Mullae-dong, supporting the expansion of product distribution channels and business purchase consultations.

This year, a booth will be set up in Hall 3 of Exhibition Center 1 at KINTEX Ilsan, and the district plans to fully support participation fees and promotional materials such as catalogs for Mullae-dong small business owners participating in the exhibition. Additionally, interpreters and guides will be stationed throughout the exhibition to inform overseas buyers about the excellence of Mullae-dong’s manufacturing technology.

Metal manufacturing companies wishing to participate in the exhibition must be small business owners registered with Yeongdeungpo-gu and capable of producing prototypes, finished products, or parts. Yangcheon-gu announced that it has launched ‘ZeroRo,’ an online integrated platform for climate crisis response aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, on the 16th.

‘ZeroRo’ is an integrated platform where various climate crisis response activities of social economy enterprises in Yangcheon-gu can be viewed at a glance, and residents can directly participate in environmental conservation activities through various events.

The district judged that a central hub was needed to unify the climate crisis response activities that had been sporadically carried out by individual organizations and companies, and planned this integrated platform launch to create synergy effects.

Through this, the goal is to gather the collective intelligence and will of local residents to recognize the climate crisis as ‘my problem’ and practice the ‘3 Zeros (Zero)’ of carbon emissions, plastic, and waste.

A total of 11 companies and organizations participated in building the website, including the Yangcheon-gu Social Economy Integrated Support Center, which has the primary mission of solving social problems, as well as local social economy enterprises and the Yangcheon Civic Society Solidarity.

The climate crisis response activities proposed on ‘ZeroRo’ include ▲ climate crisis response education ▲ resource circulation and environmental campaigns ▲ consumption of eco-friendly and zero-waste products. The platform aims to focus on the positive changes that will occur in the community when residents willingly overcome inconveniences and practice climate actions in daily life, increasing their cohesion.

Various events to commemorate the opening of ‘ZeroRo’ are also underway. These include the ‘Find Our Neighborhood Paper Pack Collection Box!’ event, where participants upload certification shots of separating and disposing of paper packs (such as milk cartons) on SNS with hashtags, and the ‘Climate Crisis Response Stamp Challenge!’ where participants collect stamps by joining eco-friendly programs of social economy enterprises.

Residents wishing to participate in the events can visit the ‘ZeroRo’ website to check related information. For detailed inquiries, contact the Yangcheon-gu Social Economy Integrated Support Center.

An official from the Job and Economy Division said, “Since the ultimate result of climate change will be experienced by all of us, individuals must change to lead the innovative transformation toward carbon neutrality,” and added, “The integrated platform ‘ZeroRo,’ at the center of collective intelligence, will be a reliable partner for residents in carbon neutrality at the starting point of that change.”
