This is the first time Melania has given an official interview to the media since leaving the White House. Even during her time as First Lady, she was known as the "reclusive First Lady" for avoiding public exposure, making her mention of the possibility of returning to the White House notable.
Melania particularly stated, "Living in the White House was enjoyable. Being the First Lady of the United States was the greatest honor for me," and added, "I think we achieved many accomplishments during the four years of the Trump administration." She also said, "I enjoyed taking care of the White House. It was my home for a while," and "I know it is the people's house. Living there was a privilege."
Melania's remarks come as her husband, former President Trump, has resumed political activities this year and expressed his intention to run in the 2024 presidential election. Until now, Melania was known to have distanced herself from the possibility of returning to the White House.
When asked about her view on the current situation in the United States, she said, "If you look deeply, I think it is sad to see what is happening now," adding, "Many people are suffering and in pain, and the same is true for what is happening around the world."
