[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Roboteez, a company specializing in autonomous driving robots, announced on the 16th through a public disclosure that its sales in the first quarter of this year increased by 34% compared to the same period last year, reaching 6.2 billion KRW.
Operating losses also improved significantly, decreasing by 66% from last year to 300 million KRW. Net loss for the period was also reduced by more than half compared to the previous year, standing at around 200 million KRW.
This performance was mainly driven by sales of the robot actuator "DYNAMIXEL," which incorporates Roboteez's proprietary technology. A Roboteez official explained, "New demand for applying DYNAMIXEL to medical equipment and various quality control (QC) devices both domestically and overseas has increased, impacting sales."
The robot actuator DYNAMIXEL, a core component for robot operation, is applied not only to Roboteez's outdoor autonomous driving robot "Ilgaemi" and indoor autonomous driving robot "Jipgaemi," but also to robots in various industrial fields.
Kim Byung-soo, CEO of Roboteez, said, "The first quarter of this year marked meaningful achievements as an autonomous driving robot specialist company, with the global competitiveness of DYNAMIXEL expanding and the addition of indoor autonomous driving robot service sales." He added, "Since the export ratio is high, we also expect performance improvements due to the rise in exchange rates this year."
CEO Kim emphasized, "We will actively expand the market aiming to produce more than 100 'Jipgaemi' robots within the year and leap forward as the next-generation robot platform."
