[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Park Ji-hyun, Emergency Committee Chair of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized President Yoon Seok-yeol's commuting hours on the 16th. Regarding the ruling and opposition party leaders' meeting, Chair Park maintained the position that the personnel disaster must be resolved first.
On the day, Chair Park said, "It seems President Yoon is going to declare a flexible working hours system," and mentioned, "On the 11th, he arrived at 8:30 AM, on the 12th at 9:10 AM, and on the 13th at 9:55 AM." She added, "If he continues to come in 40 minutes later every day, he might switch to working from home," and pointed out, "How many concerns and measures need to be prepared during the first week of his term amid the North Korean crisis and the livelihood crisis?"
She stated, "As someone who cares about life and safety, I demand at least a minimum level of sincerity."
Chair Park demanded that President Yoon organize the nominations of Han Dong-hoon, Minister of Justice candidate; Jeong Ho-young, Minister of Health and Welfare candidate; Lee Si-won, Secretary for Public Service Discipline; Kim Kyu-hyun, National Intelligence Service Director nominee; and Kwon Young-ho, Crisis Management Center Director.
She criticized, "(The president) insists on pushing through Han's appointment, signaling that fairness can be ignored and that 'Daddy's power' can be used," adding, "It means that wealthy people can create fake credentials through international networks." She continued, "The delay in Jeong's resignation is also a signal that illegal admissions are acceptable under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration."
Chair Park said, "The appointment of Lee, who fabricated a spy case against innocent citizens, is nothing but terror itself," and pointed out, "Kim, who was arrested for manipulating Sewol ferry disaster times, and Kwon, who ordered the shredding of Sewol disaster documents, signal that loyalty to the president is the only personnel principle rather than abiding by the law."
Regarding this, Chair Park said, "If President Yoon wants to emphasize unity and cooperation at the National Assembly, he must promptly reappoint people who meet common sense standards to enable cooperation and collaboration." She added, "It is not desirable to leave pending tasks and meet over a glass of soju," and urged, "It is inappropriate to interpret the refusal to drink with opposition leaders as a rejection. The personnel disaster must be resolved first to create an environment where the ruling and opposition parties can meet."
