[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Park Wan-joo, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea who was expelled due to allegations of sexual misconduct, expressed a rebuttal, stating, "No matter what sacrifices and pains there are, what is not right is not right."

On the 15th, Park sent a message to reporters saying, "It is painful for both the party and me, but I have inevitably chosen the path of expulsion."

This is interpreted as accepting the party's decision to expel him, but not acknowledging the facts of the allegations.

He said, "I plan to make a statement when the time comes," adding, "It does not seem to be that time yet." He continued, "It will take a long time, but please watch over the matter that I have endured and started," and apologized, saying, "I am sorry for causing confusion and pain to many people."

Meanwhile, on the same day, Song Young-gil, the Democratic Party's Seoul mayoral candidate, strongly criticized the allegations of sexual misconduct against Park in an MBN interview, saying, "This is an unacceptable matter," and "He should immediately resign."
