7m Barrier Erected at Moon's Residence Removed in a Day... "No Need to Hide" On the 13th, people are looking at the former President Moon Jae-in's residence from the roadside opposite the private house of former President Moon Jae-in and his wife in Pyeongsan Village, Habuk-myeon, Yangsan-si, Gyeongnam. / Photo by Yonhap News

[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] On the fourth day since former President Moon Jae-in and his wife returned to their hometown in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, the approximately 7-meter-wide screen installed at their residence was removed after just one day.

A representative of the residence explained on the 13th, "The screen was installed temporarily, but since there is no reason to hide former President Moon's natural appearance, we decided to take it down."

Previously, on the morning of the 12th, a temporary screen about 1.5 meters high and 7 meters wide appeared at former President Moon's residence.

The screen was installed behind the bamboo inside the residence, where media cameras had captured scenes of former President Moon holding his pet cat or conversing with close aides.

Meanwhile, the loudspeaker broadcasts that had been echoing overnight in Pyeongsan Village, Yangsan, were stopped the previous day. A conservative-leaning group halted the broadcasts, which had been ongoing for over 30 hours since the afternoon of the 11th, around 10:30 PM the day before.

It is reported that the group stopped the nighttime loudspeaker broadcasts due to police persuasion and warnings.

Since the 11th, four resident petitions related to the broadcasts have been received, along with over 50 emergency calls to 112. In response, the police notified the group of a restriction on loudspeaker use from sunset until 7 AM, citing invasion of privacy.

The police plan to issue noise cessation orders and pursue criminal charges if the group violates the noise standards set by the Assembly Act Enforcement Decree (65dB during the day, 55dB at night).

The group has registered to continue holding rallies on the road in front of former President Moon's residence until early next month.
