[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] CJ Freshway and Seoul Milk Cooperative have joined forces to develop new products and expand sales channels, including business-to-business (B2B) routes.

On the 12th, the two companies announced that they signed a business agreement the previous day at CJ Freshway's headquarters in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, focusing on joint new product development and expanding sales channels.

The two companies plan to combine CJ Freshway's food ingredient distribution network and cold chain technology specialized in frozen products with Seoul Milk's dairy product development technology to launch a strategic product lineup with comprehensive channel and product competitiveness. Beyond jointly planning products, they will share their core competencies in distribution, sales, and marketing comprehensively to establish a successful win-win model.

Previously, CJ Freshway and Seoul Milk have maintained a collaborative relationship since August 2020 when they first introduced the 'Seoul Milk Ice Cream.' Seoul Milk handled product development and brand management, while CJ Freshway managed distribution. This product has been distributed through various channels such as group catering sites, convenience stores, and online platforms, achieving record-breaking sales to date.

The two companies plan to introduce various collaborative products applying high-quality dairy ingredients in the future. Earlier this month, they launched two new products, 'UFO Cheese Donkatsu' and 'Cheese-filled Roll Katsu,' made with 100% domestically produced mozzarella cheese. They also plan to expand their collaboration by releasing products in various categories such as desserts and ready meals. Some products will be introduced not only through existing B2B channels but also in convenience stores, large supermarkets, and online.
