Gwangju Sports Council Rolls Up Sleeves to Support Successful Hosting of 'Archery World Cup'

Full Support On-Site During Tournament Including Archery Range Facilities, Competition Management, and Sports Science Booth Operations

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan City Sports Council has rolled up its sleeves to support the successful hosting of the international event, the ‘Gwangju 2022 Archery World Cup,’ starting on the 17th.

During the tournament, the Sports Council will open the World Cup Stadium Soccer Center as a practice venue to help athletes maintain their performance and will dispatch personnel to the site by field to support match operations.

Additionally, to prevent injuries and aid recovery for athletes, the council will send doctoral-level experts to provide on-site sports science support, aiming to promote K-Sports Science to athletes from various countries.

They will also provide press support for tournament promotion. Personnel will be dispatched to the press center operating at the International Archery Field to ensure the event is well covered by the media.

Lee Sang-dong, chairman of the City Sports Council, stated, “For the Archery World Cup, which serves as a precursor to the 2025 World Archery Championships, the Sports Council will do its utmost to support all aspects, including facility support at the International Archery Field managed and operated by the council, match operation personnel, sports science booth operations, and press corps management.”
