Ulsan Mayor Candidate Support 'Kim Du-gyeom 49.7% vs Song Cheol-ho 34.7%' [Realmeter]

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] A public opinion poll showed that Kim Du-gyeom, the People Power Party candidate running for Ulsan mayor in the June 1 local elections, is leading Song Cheol-ho, the Democratic Party candidate, by a margin beyond the margin of error.

According to a survey conducted by Realmeter on behalf of MBN from the 9th to the 10th among 815 men and women aged 18 or older living in Ulsan, Kim's support rate was 49.7%. Song's support rate was 34.7%. The gap between the two candidates' support rates was 15.0 percentage points, which is outside the margin of error (95% confidence level ±3.4 percentage points).

Other figures accounted for 4.4%, and the undecided group, including those who answered "none" (5.3%) and "don't know" (5.9%), made up 11.2%.

Kim received relatively high support from those aged 60 and over (66.5%), men (53.4%), conservatives (77.1%), self-employed (57.0%), and housewives (54.3%).

Song received strong support from people in their 40s (50.8%), women (38.4%), progressives (67.7%), office/management/professional workers (41.1%), and sales/production/labor/service workers (39.5%).

Regarding the most important tasks that Ulsan should focus on, the highest proportions chose "Establishment of Ulsan Medical Center and improvement of medical environment" (27.3%) and "Expansion of metropolitan transportation networks including aviation, railroads, and roads" (23.0%). Following these were "Construction of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong) Megacity" (13.9%), "Urban development by lifting development restrictions" (12.7%), and "Attracting a comprehensive university to Ulsan" (8.6%).
