"Get Maintenance at Home on Your Desired Date" SK Rent-a-Car Launches Visit Service


[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] SK Rent-a-Car announced on the 10th that it will conduct a pilot operation of its Smart Home Maintenance service for about a month. This service provides vehicle maintenance at the customer's desired time and place, and after the pilot operation, the service will officially launch in the first half of the year.


The Smart Home Maintenance service is provided by professional mechanics who visit SK Rent-a-Car customers directly to perform tasks such as engine oil and battery replacement. SK Rent-a-Car has partnered with Karang, the leading domestic on-site maintenance platform company in which it invested shares last November. Karang operates under the brand name Kasuri.


Customers can book the date and location for maintenance through a mobile application. They can compare and choose from various products. Engine oil is offered at a 20% discount and batteries at a 5% discount compared to market services. When the service is requested, a professional mechanic visits on the reserved date to replace maintenance items on-site and provides seven basic inspections free of charge, including tire pressure refill and wear check, brake moisture and pad inspection, engine oil and battery check, and engine room cleaning. After maintenance, the inspection history is recorded in the app.


The company plans to enhance the service based on customer usage information after the pilot operation and officially launch it in the first half of this year. An SK Rent-a-Car representative stated, "We will expand our customer base by launching home maintenance services applicable to electric vehicles in the future."
