[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, has been making various efforts, including a purchasing campaign, since last month as part of a project to normalize the business operations of the surrounding stores such as Kumho Highville, which were affected by the collapse accident at Hwajeong I-Park that occurred last January.
According to Seo-gu on the 9th, although four months have passed since the collapse accident, the stores in this area are still perceived by citizens as a danger zone, and they continue to suffer business losses.
As it is expected to take a long time for the commercial district to fully recover, urgent measures are needed.
Accordingly, as the first step to normalize store operations, Seo-gu is conducting a purchasing promotion campaign for event supplies and office supplies of the affected stores with the active cooperation of 40 departments within the district office and 18 dong administrative welfare centers in May, the month of family.
In the case of the Nongsung 2-dong Welfare Council, which participated in the purchasing campaign, they purchased gift packages worth about 1.9 million won for Children's Day events and delivered them to the Open Local Children's Center.
On that day, the children also held a cheering message event saying "Everyone, stay strong" for the affected stores.
In this way, various self-governing organizations in the dongs within Seo-gu have expressed their willingness to participate, and the purchasing campaign will be further expanded and actively promoted. The scope of participation will also be extended to Gwangju City Hall, affiliated organizations, and public institutions.
While promoting the reopening of businesses to residents through the district newsletter, which is published 40,000 copies monthly, Seo-gu is also actively supporting the normalization of business operations by involving the affected stores in the Social Economy and Self-Support Project Group Happiness Market event held at the Seo-gu Office outdoor plaza on the 6th.
A Seo-gu official said, "We planned this project to serve as a turning point for the store owners who are having difficulties operating their stores due to the accident to recover to daily life even a little," and added, "We will continue to actively pursue various ways to quickly normalize the affected stores."
