[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Goodoc, the nation's No.1 mobile healthcare platform company specializing in non-face-to-face medical treatment and hospital reservations, announced on the 9th that it has successfully raised 21 billion KRW in Series A funding. This marks the first investment achievement since its spin-off from its parent company CareLabs in July 2020, aimed at maximizing corporate value and preparing for an initial public offering (IPO).
With this investment as a turning point, Goodoc plans to focus on hiring developers and expanding its technology-based platform competitiveness, further solidifying its position as a mobile and digital total healthcare ‘super app.’ The strategy is to integrate all medical-related services such as hospital search, online and offline appointment booking, non-face-to-face consultations, payments, prescription management, and pharmaceutical delivery into a single ‘Goodoc’ app, evolving into a healthcare ‘super app.’
Participants in Goodoc’s Series A investment include leading domestic and international venture capital (VC) firms such as Samsung Venture Investment, Magellan Technology Investment, KB Investment, IBK Industrial Bank, DT&I Investment, Bokwang Investment, E&Venture Partners, T Investment, and CareLabs.
The company explained that the successful investment, which exceeded the initial Series A target of 20 billion KRW, was driven by ▲ high recognition and brand value as a healthcare app ▲ expanded digital healthcare investment sentiment following COVID-19 ▲ rapid growth of services such as non-face-to-face medical treatment and tablet reception, which maintained strong interest throughout the investment period.
Jinseok Lim, CEO of Goodoc, stated, “Goodoc has established itself as a mobile healthcare platform connecting patients, hospitals, and pharmacies through both face-to-face and non-face-to-face medical services, improving the quality of primary care. This vision of growing into a preventive healthcare solution received high evaluations. Just as major aspects of daily life such as food, clothing, shelter, and finance have shifted to mobile and digital platforms, we plan to build a platform service that enables everyday total care for health.”
Goodoc, which is solidifying its position as the No.1 mobile healthcare platform in Korea, continues to record a steady increase in user numbers. This year, based on the successful launch of real-time non-face-to-face medical services, the monthly active users in March increased by 47% compared to the previous month, maintaining its growth trajectory by ranking first in the App Store’s medical category and being selected as an Apple recommended app.
