[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will publicly recruit nonprofit private organizations for the Public Interest Activity Support Project from May 11 to 25 to guarantee voluntary activities of nonprofit private organizations and support their growth into sound private organizations.
This recruitment is the second round following the first round in January, and the eligible applicants are nonprofit private organizations registered in Gyeonggi Province as of the announcement date (May 11).
The province will provide selected organizations with project funds ranging from 5 million to 30 million KRW per project. However, organizations must cover at least 10% of the subsidy amount as self-funding when implementing the project.
The supported public interest projects cover seven fields: ▲ Development of civil society and social integration ▲ Realization of innovative economy and fair society ▲ Peace cooperation and national security ▲ Social welfare ▲ Promotion of culture, tourism, and sports ▲ Environmental conservation and resource saving ▲ Transportation and safety.
Supported organizations will be comprehensively reviewed by the Gyeonggi Province Public Interest Project Selection Committee based on organizational capacity (20 points), project content (70 points), and budget feasibility (10 points), with final selections made by the end of June.
Organizations with top evaluations from last year’s projects or those selected as startups (hosted by the Gyeonggi Province Public Interest Activity Support Center) may receive additional points.
A provincial official stated, "We will do our best to guarantee the public interest activities of nonprofit private organizations, support efficient project implementation, and foster growth tailored to the characteristics of each organization, thereby contributing to the development of a democratic civil society."
