[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Will there be a 'hyeonpi' (real fight)? A former baseball player turned gangster who tried to settle an online dispute with a real-life fight is under police investigation.
A man in his 30s, gangster A, was caught by the police after causing a disturbance on the street with a weapon during a YouTube broadcast following an argument with another gang member.
According to the Busan Police Agency and Jungbu Police Station on the 8th, A, a member of the Shin 20th Century faction, was arrested around 1 a.m. on the same day on a main road in Bupyeong-dong, Jung-gu, for causing a disturbance with a weapon (special assault, etc.).
During a YouTube broadcast, A told another gang member, "Let's meet in person," then turned off the broadcast, took a weapon, and went to the agreed meeting place.
When A's junior did not show up at the meeting place, he caused a disturbance on the street with the weapon and was caught by the police who arrived on the scene. It is reported that the police were dispatched following a citizen's report after watching the broadcast.
A was also booked on charges of threatening the responding police officers with the weapon, violating laws related to violence and other offenses.
The Violent Crimes Unit of the Busan Police Agency is investigating the case after receiving it from Jungbu Police Station.
On March 29, A was stabbed in the leg with a weapon by a junior in his 30s on the street in Bupyeong-dong, Jung-gu. Additionally, in January, he was involved in a mutual assault with the same gang member junior on the street in Nampo-dong, Jung-gu.
