[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do is extending the payment deadline for taxpayers who have difficulties in filing and paying personal local income tax due to COVID-19 damages.
Taxpayers with comprehensive income for the year 2021 must file and pay their personal local income tax by the end of this month.
However, to support small business owners and micro self-employed individuals who received compensation for business losses under relevant laws due to COVID-19 quarantine measures, Jangseong-gun is extending their payment deadline by about three months until August 31.
Eligible taxpayers should first file their personal local income tax by the end of this month and complete the payment by August 31.
A Jangseong-gun official stated, “Even taxpayers who are not subject to the extended payment deadline but have difficulties in filing and paying can apply for an extension and receive an extension period equal to the comprehensive income tax (national tax) filing and payment deadline.”
In addition, Jangseong-gun is operating a personal local income tax (comprehensive income) filing counter on the 2nd floor of the Jangseong-eup Administrative Welfare Center until the end of this month.
The filing counter supports elderly and disabled taxpayers among those who received the pre-filled filing guidance notice.
The pre-filled filing target refers to those who received a notice from the National Tax Service with the calculated tax amount (refund amount) to be paid in advance.
